Born in 2021, Hope arrived at our sanctuary at just three months old. She’s a dark bay with three white socks. She didn’t come alone but was accompanied by seven other baby horses. In her troop were Comanche, David, Rio, Wis
h-key, Arena, Maslena, and Apache. Apache and Comanche both arrived with a contagious disease called strangles/distemper or shipping fever, and sadly Apache didn’t make it. We were able to save Comanche with aggressive medical intervention, and for that we are grateful!
Hope was incredibly shy when she first came to us but after months of consistent and nutritious food, she is filling out nicely. She is still working on trust issues but we know in time she will respond to our gentle handling and constant love for her.
