Cheerio is a bald face mare with a sweet personality. She came to us from Belen, New Mexico and was part of a sheriff’s posse. The lady who originally had her decided that she no longer wanted to work with young horses because she was getting older. She wanted to find Cheerio a home where she would get the attention she deserved and have friends her own age. Cheerio was worked to be halter broke and to pick up her feet. The lady gentled her really well. She is another one of our rescue horses that was saved (by the lady in Belen) from a potential slaughter situation. This little girl is one of the friendliest horses here and will come up to you vying for attention. When Cheerio first arrived she bonded with Winter immediately. She has also made new friends with Hay-lo, Raven, and Cash.
